Jamaat-i-Islami Ameer, Syed Munawwar Hasan, has said that the drama of Hindus' migration to India from Sindh "because of insecurity" had been staged to malign the country in the world and the country's media had played a highly irresponsible role in that.
Speaking at an Iftar dinner in the city on Sunday, he said that the protection and the rights available to the minorities in this country were unparalleled in the world. On the other hand, in India, the Muslims and other minorities were getting the worst treatment as even their places of worship were being razed and set on fire.
Syed Munawwar Hasan said that for a couple of days, the media had continued the propaganda that the Hindus in Sindh were not secure. On the other hand, the concerned Hindu families were themselves saying that they were going to India for pilgrimage and the impression given by the Pakistani media about their insecurity was wrong. He said that the minorities in India, especially the Muslims were insecure and they were being subjected to attack every now and then. The outfits of extremist Hindus in India were hurling threats to them asking them to renounce Islam or leave India. There was no such thing in Pakistan, he added.
