QUETTA: Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Sarwar Foundation and Hepatitis Control Program Balochistan was held on Sunday at governor house Balochistan to strengthen cooperation for complete eradication of hepatitis from the province.
Program Manager Balochistan Hepatitis Control Program Dr. Gul Sabeen Azam while talking to APP said that practical measures were being taken to control hepatitis disease in Balochistan for 2.13 % people infected with hepatitis-C.
She said that inter-provincial cooperation was key step for same diseases under the vision of the Prime Minister's Pakistan Hepatitis C elimination Program.
She said in this regard, a formal signing ceremony of MoU between Sarwar Foundation and Hepatitis Control Program Balochistan was held at Governor House Balochistan to strengthen cooperation for complete eradication of Hepatitis from Balochistan.
Dr Gul Sabeen Azam termed the recent Memorandum of Understanding and awareness camps were a milestone.
In this regard a hepatitis clinic modelled on the Punjab Hepatitis Control Program was also being set up at Bolan Medical Complex Quetta Sabeen Azam informed.
A two-day Hepatitis Screening, Vaccination and Awareness Camp was also being organized at Bolan Medical Complex Quetta on 3rd and 4th September 2021 in collaboration with Sarwar Foundation and Hepatitis Control Program Punjab Sabeen informed.
The ceremony of MoU was attended Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, Governor Balochistan Syed Zahoor Ahmad Agha, Vice Chairperson Sarwar Foundation Begum Parveen Sarwar, Program Manager Punjab Hepatitis Control Program Dr. Khalid Mahmood and head of Program Manager Balochistan Hepatitis Control Program.
