ISLAMABAD: Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday. According to the Inter-Service Public Relation (ISPR), COAS Bajwa and the Italian foreign minister discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security and current situation in Afghanistan during the meeting.
They also exchanged views on collaboration in humanitarian assistance for Afghanistan in the meeting, it added. The army chief said that Pakistan values its relations with Italy. "We earnestly look forward to enhance mutually beneficial multi-domain relations based on common interest," he maintained.
The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan's role in Afghan situation including successful evacuation operations, efforts for regional stability and pledged to play their role for further improvement in diplomatic cooperation with Pakistan at all levels.
