The Cabinet has approved the appointment of Sardar Ali Khan as the new Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Punjab, the seventh official to take the position in the last 3 years.
A notification in this regard was issued following the Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday. Sardar replaces Inam Ghani, who was appointed last year in September.
Inam has now been appointed as IG Railway Police.

The Cabinet has also approved the appointment of Kamran Ali Afzal as the new chief secretary, Aaj News reported. Jawwad Rafique Malik has been transferred and posted as Secretary Industries and Production Division.
Kamran, the fifth Punjab chief secretary, is a BS-22 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service. Meanwhile, Sardar is a BS-21 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan. He has also served at the United Nations.
