ISLAMABAD: The Standing Committee on Law and Justice Thursday deferred Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2021 to amend Articles 51 and 106 of the Constitution with the recommendation to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to formulate proposal to address the issues.
The 57th meeting of the Standing Committee on Law and Justice was held here under the chairmanship of Riaz Fatyana, MNA in the Parliament House. The committee did not consider the bills, The Protection of Parents Bill, 2021 (Government Bill), The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2021 (Article 11 and 25A) moved by Amjad Ali Khan, MNA and Constitution (Amendment) Bill,2021 (Article 11) moved by Mehnaz Akbar Aziz, MNA, and deferred the same till the next meeting.
The Committee considered the bill, The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2021 (Article 1, 51 & 106) moved by Mohsin Dawar, MNA, after detailed discussion, the committee deferred the same till next meeting.
The Committee considered the Bill, The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2021 (Article 59) moved by Mohsin Dawar, MNA, after detailed discussion, the committee deferred the same till next meeting at request of the mover.
The Committee considered the bill, The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2021 (Article-37) and The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2021 (Article-36) Kesoo Mal Khel Das, MNA, after detailed discussion, the committee recommends that the bill may not be passed by the assembly.
The Committee considered the bill, The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2021 (Article 51 and 106) moved by Zahid Akram Durrani, MNA; after detailed discussion, the committee deferred the same till the next meeting with recommendation, that the Election Commission of Pakistan shall formulate the concrete proposal to address the issue highlighted by the mover.
