KARACHI: A delegation of Pakistani businessmen has attended the International Franchise Expo (IFE) in New York to explore different business opportunities.
A delegation of Pakistani businessmen belonging to food processing, fruits and vegetable producers, textile industry, education and management, and engineering consultancy, etc. visited the exhibition and identified different opportunities that they could capitalize on. The education and consultancy representatives were able to eye potential business partners and have gone in the second round of talks.
The delegation discussed the issues related to the industries and businesses while targeting the US market with the Trade & Investment Commercial Counselor (CC) Talat Mehmood. The CC resolved most of the matters related to finding markets, certifications, and pre-requisites, processing plants, etc. on the spot, and other issues will be reverted. The handling of the CC on matters faced by the business community was very professional, said former chairman PAAPAM Mashood Khan.
Mashood, who was part of the delegation, emphasized the integration of SMEs of Pakistan on US-based Multinational companies. We are able to produce low-end value-added products which the US is importing from other states like CHINA, Vietnam, Philippines, etc. He also emphasized the technology collaborations with US companies.
Later, he appreciated the business wing of the US consulate in Karachi appreciated for arranging a delegation from the Pakistani business community to visit the exhibition and pave way for future endowers and added that these activities would create capacity building for entrepreneurs and relationship building between the states.
