At least eight people including three women and CID personnel were killed in different violent incidents in city on Thursday, police and rescue sources said. In first incident a CID personnel was shot dead near Jalal Mosque, Usmanabad area in the limits of Garden police station. The deceased was identified as Nasir Khan Niazi, 43, son of Muhammad Khan.
Police said deceased left the office for official work when armed men intercepted him near Jalal Mosque and shot him dead and fled. He received multiple bullets wounds. The body was moved to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for post-mortem. Police said deceased, resident of Eidgah area left behind seven children and a widow. They suspected that the Lyari gangsters were behind the killing of CID personnel.
Separately, two bullet riddled bodies of women were found from Sikandar Goth, Sohrab Goth area falling in the limits of Sachal police station. Police said that the deceased women were later identified as Mumtaz, 43, wife of Ghulam Fareed and Naseem wife of Ghulam Fareed, was gunned down by unidentified accused. Police said that both women left the house for Eid shopping and later their bodies were found from abandoned place. The deceased women hailed from Bhawalpur city. Both were the wife of Ghulam Fareed and had no child. In another incident, a fruit vendor was gunned down on a petty issue in the limits of the Korangi Industrial Area police station. Police said two groups of Hazara community fought on petty issue in Gulzar Colony market which turned violent, leaving Noor Gul, 26, son of Muhammad Wali dead.
The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico legal formalities. In addition, a strangulated body of a woman was found at her home situated in Sector 12 Baldia Town in the limits of Saeedabad police station. Police said that deceased Nusrat Bibi 30, wife of Jahangir, was strangulated to death by unknown accused. The body was taken o CHK for medico-legal formalities.
A bandit was shot dead by a commuter during a robbing bid in passenger bus at Baldia within the limits of Saeedabad police station. Police said that the identity of the victim could not be ascertained. He was shot dead by a passenger when he was trying to rob commuters. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for autopsy and later moved to Edhi morgue foridentification.
Meanwhile a man was killed while other injured in firing incident near Parking Plaza, Saddar area in the limits of Brigade police station. The deceased was identified as Feroz,50, son Ameer Nawaz while injured identified as Shoukat,45, son of Noor Mohammad. Police said that unknown armed men opened indiscriminate fire outside Parking Plaza, leaving Feroz dead. The body of the deceased and injured were shifted to JPMC for post-mortem and medical treatment.
A shop owner of an electric store Abdul Karim, 45, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Landhi area. Police said the deceased refused to pay extortion, as a result the unknown assailants shot him dead and fled from the scene. The body was shifted to hospital for medico-legal formalities.
ANP leader's car attacked Meanwhilw, unidentified men attacked the car of ANP Sindh General Secretary Bashir Jan near his residence located in Frontier Colony here on Thursday night. According to police, Bashir Jan a leader of ANP was attacked when he was going in his car along with two policemen and a security guard. Resultantly, two policemen and guard were injured in attack and Bashir Jan narrowly escaped. The attackers escaped from the scene.
