Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Friday criticized the formation of a commission by the Speaker of the National Assembly, with Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan saying that Fata and Hazara regions should also be given representation in the panel.
Terming the commission a hypocritical move, Chaudhry Nisar said that 'Zardari League' was not interested in the creation of new provinces. They just wanted to exploit the issue, making it a "political football". He said that PML-N had suggested any names to the Speaker for inclusion in the commission. He said that his party favoured the creation of new province of Bahawalpur and South Punjab, adding that people Fata and Hazara also want to carve out new provinces. Chaudhry Nisar said that if the Commission had been formed for the formation of new provinces in Punjab, "what is the role of MQM's Dr Farooq Sattar and Haji Muhmmad Adeel of the ANP". The opposition leader said that PML-N should be given half representation in the Commission. He said that all members of the commission should be from Punjab.
