Punjab health department evolves contingency plan for Eid holidays

Provincial health department has evolved contingency plan for providing round the clock quality and prompt healthcare services to people during Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
In a circular issued from the office of the Secretary Health, all the principals of autonomous medical intuitions in Punjab, Director General, Health Services Punjab Lahore, Director Health Services, Medical Superintendents of Teachings Hospitals, Heads of Special Health Institutions, Executive District Officers (Health) and all medical superintendents of DHQ & THQ hospitals in Punjab have been asked to provide round the clock quality and prompt healthcare services during Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
They have been directed to provide efficient medical cover including standby arrangements for medical, surgical or special care expected in emergency situation. They have also been asked to ensure availability of senior administrators and medical staff besides arranging emergency duty roster, emergency situation crises management plan, reserve beds, all life saving medicines, vaccines, disposables, linen etc, perfect working order bio-medical equipment, machines, patient lifts, standby generators, fully functional operation theatres, fully equipped functional ambulances along with trained staff, operational communication system ie, telephone exchange, mobile, mega phone and sufficient quantity of all blood groups along with list of donors. They have been further directed to ensure compliance of these instructions in letter and spirit. Any lapse in this regard will be dealt strictly, concludes the circular.
