18 Aug, 2012

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Barrister Masood Kausar here on Friday said that practical steps should be taken for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) wellbeing as they are in pathetic condition and asked the officers from Fata Secretariat to personally visit the IDPs camps to know about their problems and resolve them.
This, he said this during a presentation on overall IDPs situation given to him in a meeting which was attended by ACS Fata, Secretary L&O Fata and DG FDMA here at Governor House. The Governor said IDPs had left their homes for the sack of the nation and asked the officials concerned to provide them basic facilities of life in the camps.
He asked the officials to know the problems of IDPs as it is their prime responsibility in these demanding days. He said that middle aged women may be employed at these camps to take care of IDP women as they know the issues of women well and can handle their problems.
He added that there may not be the best system available but at least basic facilities of life should be provided to IDPs. He directed the concerned officers to submit a monthly report of their performance and there should be no negligence in resolving their problems.
