KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 254,132 tonnes of cargo comprising 184,294 tonnes of import cargo and 69,838 tonnes of export cargo during last 48 hours ending on Monday.
The total import cargo of 184,294 comprised of 58,419 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 24,614 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 7,100 tonnes of Rock Phosphate, 1,002 tonnes of Sugar, 17,116 tonnes of Wheat and 76,043 Tons of Oil/Liquid Cargo.
The total export cargo of 69,838 tonnes comprised of 31,892 tonnes of containerized cargo, 541 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 30,146 tonnes of Clinkers, 6,914 tonnes of Rice and 345 tonnes of Oil & Liquid Cargo.
Nearly 6022 containers comprising of 4043 containers import and 1979 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 570 of 20’s and 1568 of 40’s loaded while 07 of 20’s and 165 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 793 of 20’s and 478 of 40’s loaded containers while 50 of 20’s and 90 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.
Some 12 ships namely, Islander S, MT Lahore, Maud, Thorsky, MT Quetta, Al Mahboobah, Ningbo Express, Agapi S, Cma Cgm Rabelais, Ym Excellence, V Star and Stolt Calluna have berth at Karachi Port.
Approximately, Ast Malta, An Hai Star, Northern Dedication, Ceylon Breeze, Xing Fu Song, Thorsky, Adventure and Ocean Wave 1 have sailed out from Karachi Port.
About 15 cargoes namely, Oriental Cosmos, Kota Naked, Teera Bhum, California, Trader, OEL Kedarnath, Han Ren, Kuwana, Monika, Asteras, Ital Uica, Oocl Cenoa, Leo Paramount, Hyundai Busan, X-Press Bardsey and Adventure were expected on the same day.
PORT QASIM
A total of eleven ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them six ships, Teera Bhum, Cap Carmel, Simaisma, KOI, PS Augusta and Spring Queen left the port on Monday morning.
Cargo throughput of 183,381 tonnes, comprising 140,422 tonnes imports cargo and 42,959 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 4,576 Containers (2,100 TEUs Imports and 2,476 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.
There are 17 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them three ships, Arvika, PS Augusta and Athens Glory & two more ships CMA CGM Rabelais and Chemroad Sakura carrying Coal, Edible oil, Containers and Chemicals are expected to take berths at PIBT, LCT, QICT and EVTL respectively on Monday, 19th November, while three more ships, Cap Carmel, Teera Bhum and Simaisma with Containers and Natural Gas are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Tuesday, 23rd November-2021.
