Ameer, Jamaat-i-Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hassan, has said that the things in the country won't improve by cursing or abusing the rulers and the masses would have to change their attitude and entrust the affairs of the state to honest and competent people.
Talking to delegations at Mansoora on return from Karachi on Thursday, he warned that if the people elected the dacoits and plunderers in the next elections again, the situation would go worse and the national harmony would be seriously affected. He called upon the nation to accept the collective responsibility of the prevailing serious situation, repent for voting the corrupt politicians and revolt against them, only then the country would be out of the present mess.
Slating the fresh raise in the POL prices, he said that the indifference and apathy of the rulers had crossed all limits and at times when the POL prices were declining in the world market, the government had been raising the prices.
Syed Munawar Hassan counselled the Army Chief to understand the sentiments of the masses in regard to military operation in North Waziristan and refrain from that in the larger national interest, adding that actually the US and its allies wanted to pit the Muslims against each other to achieve its nefarious designs.
