Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will meet with President Asif Ali Zardari on the sidelines of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit scheduled to be held in Tehran, Iran later this month, reported The Times of India newspaper on Saturday. This will be the second meeting between the two leaders this year. Zardari visited India on a private trip earlier this year.
Meanwhile, some lawmakers of India and Pakistan met here on Friday and discussed the recent communal violence in India's north-eastern state of Assam and subsequent exodus of people from southern India, according to the newspaper. The lawmakers, who are members of India-Pakistan joint parliamentary committee, agreed that elements involved in spreading panic and hatred linked with the Assam violence and exodus should be punished.
