Queen Elizabeth II's 91-year-old husband Prince Philip made his first public appearance on Sunday since he was discharged from hospital last week. Philip, who was treated for a recurrence of a bladder infection, accompanied the queen to Crathie church in eastern Scotland, near their summer residence Balmoral.
The outspoken prince was taken from Balmoral to hospital in Aberdeen, 65 kilometres (40 miles) away, on August 15. He was discharged last Monday.
He had suffered a recurrence of the bladder infection that forced him to miss the last of the queen's huge diamond jubilee celebrations in June marking her 60th year on the throne.
The health scare is Philip's third in eight months, having suffered a blocked coronary artery over Christmas that required a surgical procedure to insert a stent.
