Secretary inspects drive against dengue

Women Development Department (WDD) Secretary Eram Bukhari has said that keeping the surroundings clean is essential to control the spread of dengue. She said this during her visit to Women Development Department, Career Develop-ment Centres (CDCs) and Working Women Hostels on Sunday.
She inspected special cleanliness drive being carried out for the eradication of dengue.
It may be mentioned here that Gender Special Units of GRAP in Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan and Gujranwala launched special campaigns in their respective working women hostels to mark Anti-Dengue Day. Intensive cleanliness exercise was carried out and GRAP officers distributed pamphlets to create awareness on dengue and displayed posters inside the hostel buildings.
Later, the Women Development Department Secretary chaired a meeting in her office to finalise week-long programmes on dengue.
