LAHORE: Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) on Tuesday strongly opposed sales tax on solar panels, solar inverters, and solar-related equipment.
In a statement, Acting President of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Khawaja Shahzeb Akram demanded that sales tax on solar panels, solar inverters, and solar-related equipment be abolished immediately.
He further said that the government had abolished sales tax exemption for importers of solar, which will increase the prices of solar and related equipment. The burden will fall on the commoner, and this decision will reduce the purchasing power of the people.
