Power shortfall has risen to 3782MW, leading no change in loadshedding schedule throughout Punjab. The power consumers were the worst hit of the situation and kept on cursing the power distribution companies throughout Monday. According to the Energy Management Cell (EMC) demand for power in the country has reached to 17214MW against supply of 13482MW, leaving the system with a total shortfall of 3782MW.
Power outages in rural and urban areas are yet lingering to 12 to 20 hours respectively. It may be noted that All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) organised a dinner in the honour of President Asif Zardari at the presidency to apprise him the difficulties faced by the industry due to unprecedented loadshedding.
