KARACHI: Ten soldiers were martyred in an attack on Tuesday night on a military check post in the Dasht area of Balochistan’s Kech district on the border of Iran, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Thursday.
One terrorist was killed and several others injured, the ISPR said, while three terrorists apprehended in the follow up clearance operation. Banned militant group Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) had claimed responsibility for the attack via messages to journalists and through message service Telegram on Wednesday.
As per sources with the security community, 45-50 heavily armed militants launched an attack on a military check post that resulted in casualties. The development was shared by journalists in separate tweets. Journalist Mubashir Zaidi tweeted the development with a message “disturbing development” on Wednesday.
