TORONTO: Canada’s main stock index rose on Monday, extending gains from the prior session, as strength in the healthcare and technology sectors canceled out weakness in energy shares.

At 9:45 a.m. ET (14:45 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index was up 28.93 points.
