All Pakistan Oil Tanker Owners Association (APOTOA) Multan chapter rejected surge in petroleum products and demanded of the government to withdraw its decision otherwise the association would go on a wheel jam within 48 hours.
President of Multan Chapter Haji Shirin Khan termed the recent increase in petroleum products as cruelty that would directly affect the general public. Members of the Association said the people were already facing unbearable hike while the surge in petroleum products would further put them in miseries owning to the recent increase. During the meeting the Association, while out-rightly rejecting the recent increase in petroleum products up to Rs 8.40 per litre declared it synonymous with hurling bomb on the poor people.
They said no increase had been witnessed in the price of oil in international market, but the rulers with aim of pocketing money were increasing it on daily basis. He said consecutive increase in the prices of petroleum products was not only open cruelty, but also sheer injustice with the people, which could not be tolerated in any circumstances and would be agitated on every available forum. They warned the government for the withdrawal of the decision within a period of two days otherwise, they said the Association would have no other option than going on wheel-jam.
