ECP urged to freeze BISP funds

Pakistan Muslim League-N Azad Kashmir has demanded the blockage of Rs 150 billion of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and urged upon the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to freeze this huge amount for ensuring fair and impartial upcoming election in the country.
Addressing a news conference at Sialkot Press Club (SPC) on Tuesday evening ex-speaker AJK Assembly and General Secretary PML-N, Shah Ghulam Qadir alleged that BISP was ruthlessly used in Azad Kashmir election by Pakistan Peoples Party and practice would be replicated general elections of Pakistan.
The PPP government has dumped the Kashmir issue in cold store and failed to raise the Kashmir issue in Islamic Conference held in Saudi Arab whereas Kashmir issue was top on OIC agenda adding that President Asif Ali Zardari was failed in highlighting the issue in conference held in Tehran, he pointed out.
Ghulam Qadir further added that this negative attitude of PPP indicated that PPP government was ignoring the issue. Ex-Speaker disclosed that there are 122 advisors in AJK government and they busy in loot whereas the population of 50 lakh adding that treasury government is empty. PPP government in AJK is following the pattern of Federal government and trying to set a record of corruption as in Pakistan, he added.
He said PML-N AJK will take active part in fast approaching elections of Pakistan and full campaign would be carried out in the favour of PML-N candidates across Pakistan. On this the ex-speaker congratulated the newly elected Chairman Sialkot Press Club Anwar Bajwa and Mian Naeem Iqbal as General Secretary on their success. He also announced to donation of Rs five lakh for Sialkot Press Club.
