KARACHI: Gold prices on Saturday hit a new historic high in the local market, traders said. Up by Rs300, gold prices reached a record high of Rs145800 per tola.

Similarly, prices of the yellow metal per 10 grams touched highest ever mark of Rs125000, up by Rs258.

Gold per ounce was quoted for $1840 in the world market.

Silver was traded for Rs1560 per tola and Rs1337.40 per 10 grams, traders said.
