PTI flays LG Ordinance

10 Sep, 2012

President of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf's Sindh Chapter Nadir Akmal Laghari while criticising promulgation of Sindh People's Local Government Ordinance 2012, said that newly promulgated ordinance would bifurcate the province.
Addressing a press conference along with other party office-bearers at the Karachi Press Club on Sunday, Nadir Akmal Laghari said Pakistan Peoples Party and its allies should have tabled the draft in the Sindh Assembly to discuss anomalies of the ordinance.
He also criticised the Sindh Chief Minister for notifying new civil service rules to arbitrarily appoint any officer at any post in any department.
Nadir Akmal Laghari also accused the government had started pre-poll rigging.
He said that recently issued voters' list of the Election Commission of Pakistan was incomplete and flawed especially for Karachi.
He said that voters' list should be compiled on the basis of current addresses for Karachi and Hyderabad. He further said that the nationals of Azad Jammu and Kashmir residing in Karachi and Hyderabad should be granted the right to cast vote on their current addresses. He alleged that names of large number of people, who were living in Karachi, had deliberately been transferred to other districts. PTI Sindh chapter general secretary Syed Hafeez Udin, Karachi chapter president Ashraf Qureshi and others were also present.
