KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 114,813 tonnes of cargo comprising 87,370 tonnes of import cargo and 27,443 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours.
The total import cargo of 87,370 comprised of 46,690 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 3,518 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 7,828 tonnes of Wheat, 4,215 tonnes of Yellow Soya Bean Seeds & 25,119 tonnes of Oil & Liquid Cargo.
The total export cargo of 27,443 tonnes comprised of 25,881 tonnes of containerized cargo, 350 tonnes of Bulk Cargo & 1,212 tonnes of Corns.
-Nearly, 7194 containers comprising of 3081 containers import and 4113 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 1001 of 20’s and 999 of 40’s loaded while 00 of 20’s and 41 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 716 of 20’s and 203 of 40’s loaded containers while 449 of 20’s and 1271 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.
Around 06, ships namely, Pisces Leader, Jolly Quarzo, Gfs Prestige, NCC Tabuk, Al Salam II and Tan Binh 259 have berthed at Karachi Port.
Approximately, 06 ships namely, English Bay, Hyundai Oakland, Dalian, MT Quetta, Pisces Leader and M.T Karachi sailed out from Karachi Port.
Approximately, 10 cargoes namely, Al Shaffiah, Naeba Galaxy, Hyundai Bangkok, Spirit, Oriental Hebiscus, Long Beach Trader, MSC Malin, Gulf Barakah, Bao Ning Ling and Spekeroog were expected to arrive at the port.
PORT QASIM
A total of 09 ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them, 02 ships, Al-Marrouna and Saehan Jasper left the Port on Wednesday morning, while 03 more ships, Maersk Pittsburgh, Ante Topic and Aframax Riviera are expected to sail on today in the afternoon.
Cargo throughput of 185,907 tonnes, comprising 141,569 tonnes imports cargo and 44,338 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 4,450` Containers (2,603 TEUs Imports and 1,847 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.
There are 15 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them 04 more ships, Prestigious, Corona, Anna Schulte and Irenes Ray & another ship ‘MSC Iris’ scheduled to load/offload Condensate, Palm oil, Coal, and Containers are expected to take berths at FOTCO, LCT, PQEPT and QICT on Wednesday, 3rd Aug-2022.
