PML-N seeks to wean PML-F away from government

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has stepped up efforts aimed at wooing Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) to join the opposition alliance. Sources told Business Recorder that efforts are underway for a meeting between Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and PML-F head Pir Pagara. In this meeting, Nawaz would formally invite the PML-F to join the opposition alliance after quitting the ruling coalition with the Pakistan People's Party (PPP).
It may be noted that all allies and opposition parties of Sindh, except the MQM, are unhappy over the Sindh Local Bodies Ordinance. Sources claimed that former Punjab governor Ghulam Mustafa Khar delivered Nawaz Sharif's message to Pir Pagara for joining the opposition alliance. According to sources, Pir Pagara has sought some time from the PML-N for consultation over joining the opposition alliance against the government.
