Business community has sharply reacted on the increase of prices of high speed diesel, kerosene oil etc describing it unjust and detrimental to agricultural economy and warned the government of serious consequences if it does not withdraw the increase in the prices of petroleum products (POL) other than petrol adopting the practice of price review on weekly basis.
Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) President, Mian Anis A Sheikh said that cost of production was increasing day by day due to increase in POL prices, power and now Pakistani manufacturers as well as exporters were incompetitive in global market. They are unable to face the Bangladesh, India, China, Thailand, Malaysia while all the trade and industrial associations, would launch drive against weekly increase in the petroleum products and the federal government would be responsible for any untoward situation.
