Governor Khyber Pkahtunkhwa, Barrister Masood Kausar said that in spite of difficult pathways and other problems in Fata, polio workers were performing their duties successfully and with great zeal and enthusiasm to cut the roots of polio completely from their motherland.
This he said at the inauguration ceremony of Polio Control Room in Fata Secretariat Peshawar, last Monday. The ceremony was also attended by provincials Additional Chief Secretary, Secretary Law & Order and Secretary Social Sector besides many officers from health and other relevant departments. On the occasion, an NGO, Save The Children, Chief, Nazir Ahmad, presented key of vaccine carrying vehicle to the Governor for Directorate of Health Services Fata Secretariat.
The governor offered note of thanks to Save the Children and handed over the key to Additional Chief Secretary Fata to increase the efficiency of polio team workers in fight against polio in Fata. While talking to media, the Governor said that polio had been taken as national emergency throughout the country and everyone was struggling hard to remove that problem and to save the future of Pakistan.
He said that polio was under control to a greater extent in Fata but even then a single case could create a lot of problems. He said those living in Islamabad could not realise the problems and difficulties of polio workers during their anti-polio campaign in Fata but despite of all the problems, polio teams were successful in their mission against polio in tribal areas.
