Prime Minister to appear before Supreme Court on 18th: Kaira

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira said on Thursday that Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf would appear before the Supreme Court in NRO Implementation case on September 18. Talking to media persons here, the Information Minister said that the PPP government always implemented judicial orders and his party would also follow the directives of Supreme Court.
Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf would appear before the apex court on September 18, as the PM had already appeared before the court during previous hearing when a five-judge bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa adjourned the hearing of the case till September 18, he added.
About the secret funds issue, the Information Minister‚ said all the funds of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting were auditable. He said there is only one discretionary fund of Rs 10.2 million, "which goes through audit." About the UN group's visit in relation to missing persons, he explained that it was a liaison group and had nothing to do with any investigation in this connection. The Minister said general election would be held on time in a free‚ fair and transparent manner.
