LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority has registered 31% higher revenue during the 1st quarter of the Fiscal Year 2022-23 by collecting Rs 42,899 million in comparison with last year’s corresponding period at Rs.32,706 million.
The current financial year augurs well for the Authority as it recorded 31.10%, 41.22% and 17.63% increase in revenue for the months of July, August and September respectively according to a reliable source. During the last month of the quarter, the PRA collected an amount of Rs 14,248 million which is 18% higher than the last year.
According to the PRA’s spokesperson, the persistent growth in PRA’s collection clearly reflects the success of Punjab government’s policy of facilitation and collaboration with stakeholders.
The consistent increase in PRA’s revenue also seems to be promising in achieving the budgetary target of Rs 190,000 million assigned by the Punjab government. It is worth mentioning that during first quarter, the PRA did not adopt any coercive measure and has relied solely on stakeholder engagement and taxpayer education.
