A seminar on "Career counselling" for the medical students was held in Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) Jamshoro on Friday. While addressing a large number of students, Vice Chancellor Professor Mashoor Alam Shah expressed that career counselling was offered to the medical students to help guide them to develop into the kind of specialty they aspire to adopt in future.
"Career development is a process of self-assessment, exploration, decision-making and implementation that begins at the first day of medical education and continues throughout the five years." He further added that all the fields of medicine and surgery required special qualities and abilities in a person to join it and to perform well in that field. Career Counselling explores the personality of a person and suggests some fields for further studies and to do to job. He emphasised that the purpose of life should be determined first then people should do work hard to capture that goal as all the successful persons of the world had determined their destination before reaching at peak.
