KARACHI: Royal Airport Services (RAS) has partnered with Menzies Aviation, UK to enhance the passenger experience and improve air cargo connectivity in the country.
According to the details, under the joint venture agreement, a new company Menzies-RAS has been formed after completing all legal formalities required to get approval from the Board of Investment (BoI), SECP, and PCAA.
The RAS owns 51 percent equity of Menzies-RAS while the rest of 49 percent is owned by Menzies Aviation, UK. Christian Turner, British High Commissioner to Pakistan in his recent tweet also welcomed new British investment in Pakistan.
Since the partnership was formed, Menzies and Royal Airport Services have been working closely to ensure all systems and processes are aligned and streamlined where necessary. As part of this integration Menzies has led new training programs which focus on industry best practices and implementing Menzies global standards, Menzies Aviation said.
It also confirmed that the Menzies-RAS has secured contracts with several major carriers for passenger, ramp, and cargo services at eight airports in the country. The United Nations World Food Programme (UN WFP) has also selected Menzies-RAS to handle light cargo transport to the humanitarian community at Islamabad airport.
Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, Airblue, Kuwaiti airline Jazeera, AirSial, Fly Jinnah, Flynas & British Airways selected Menzies-RAS to handle their operations at different airports in Pakistan.
