Ameer, Jamaat-i-Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawwar Hasan, has said that a big chunk of the country's youth had gathered under the banner of the JI and would spare no sacrifice for a real change in the country. He was addressing a huge youth rally organised by the Shabab-e-Milli, at Punjab University New Campus on Sunday afternoon.
criticising the government, the JI Ameer said that while the entire Ummah was agitating against the film, Pakistani rulers remained unmoved. He said that although the US claimed to be a civilised nation, it stooped to insulting other religions and civilisations.
Referring to the Karachi factory fire, the JI Ameer reiterated his demand for involving MQM's federal and provincial Ministers in the investigation into the blaze in which 300 factory workers had been killed. The MQM, he said, could kill thousands of people for the sake of extortion.
He deplored that the government had not taken any action in this regard, adding that efforts were being made to hide facts.
Addressing the rally, the JI Secretary General, Liaquat Baloch, said that Pakistan was also on the "threshold of a revolution".
He said that anti-Islam forces were attacking the country's independence and civilisation. Meanwhile, the JI Ameer, has condemned the remote control bomb attack in Lower Dir resulting in fourteen deaths.
He also condemned the firing at the protesters outside the Consulate in Karachi resulting in one death.
