Barcelona defender Carles Puyol, who suffered ligament damage to his left knee in Saturday's 4-1 win at Getafe, will miss up to six weeks of action, the Catalan giants confirmed. "The captain of Barcelona strained the posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. He'll undergo further tests this Sunday to determine the extent of his injury," said a club statement.
Puyol will miss the crucial clash against bitter rivals Real Madrid on October 7 at Camp Nou. "It's always a problem when you lose a player like him. He brings a lot to the team. Hopefully we can get him back soon," said Barca coach Tito Vilanova.
