Syed Raghib Abbas Shah has been appointed the Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) Chairman, as the Establishment Division on Monday issued the notification to this effect following approval by Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf. Syed Raghib Abbas Shah was serving as Wapda Member (Water) prior to his elevation to the post of Wapda Chairman. He joined as Junior Engineer (Civil) in 1974 after his graduation in Civil Engineering from NED College, Karachi.
Shah, the 20th Wapda Chairman, has the diverse experience of 38 years to his credit in construction, maintenance and management of irrigation, drainage, water storage and hydropower projects. Raghib Abbas, an engineer of repute, is a member of various national and international engineering organisations, and has represented Pakistan in different illustrious forums the world over many time.
