Collision between trains: two killed, eight injured

At least two persons including railway guard were killed while eight others sustained injures when two passenger trains collided near Ghaghar Phatak on early Monday. According to SHO Landhi railway police station Saleem, at around 3:25 am, Shalimar Express, coming from Lahore, knocked Millat Express from back between Ghaghar Phatak and Dhabeji route, leaving two persons killed and eight others wounded.
The bodies and injured persons were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities and treatment. The deceased were identified as railway guard Ali Asghar and a passenger Shaukat. He said that although no case was registered so far, inquiry has been initiated, which suggested that Maqbool Magsi, a driver of Shalimar Express was responsible for the incident.
