Three persons including a doctor were killed in separate incidents of firing in various parts of the metropolis, here on Monday. According to police and rescue sources, unidentified armed men attacked a car (AEF-665) near Rehmat Chowk located at Muhammad Mustafa Colony, Orangi Town. Resultantly, a 45-year-old doctor namely Shehzad son of Naqi Ahmad received fatal bullet wounds and succumbed to his injuries on way to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH).
Police said the deceased, who was hit by four bullets on his upper torso, used to run a private medical centre at Mustafa Colony and at the time of incident, he was on the way to his medical centre. They said he was also employed in Sindh Government Hospital, Orangi Town and residing at Baba Wilayat Ali Shah area.
A 32-year-old man lost his life in a drive-by shooting in the jurisdiction of Shah Faisal police station. The victim, who was transported to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), was identified as Farhan son of Qamar Siddiqui. Police said the victim was targeted near his residence when he was going to somewhere. They said he had no political affiliation but might have been killed in this ground as he used to sit with the workers of MQM. A case was registered on the complaint of his brother Waseem and police had initiated probe to nab the culprits. A man namely Janaat Khan alias Gul Jee, 45 son of Haji Abdul was killed by the accused Hafiz Jut over personal dispute in the limits of Kalri police station. Police said they had arrested the responsible person and added that he was a close aide of notorious Lyari gangster Fahim Niaz.
Meanwhile, 23-year-old Sunny Khan son of Badshah was killed at Al-Barkat Hotel, Manzoor Colony in the limits of Baloch Colony police station. Police suspected that he might have been murdered over personal grounds. Another man namely Zeeshan, 22 son of Abdul Ghaffar lost his life when he offered resistance during snatching bid in the jurisdiction of Al-Falah police station. Police said the victim was the resident of Malir Green Town area. Meanwhile, two bullet-riddled bodies were recovered from Garden area.
