Denouncing the anti-Islam film, hundreds of people took to streets and roads and demanded of the government to declare the US ambassador and diplomats persona non grata and expel them instantly. The speakers of the protest demonstration also demanded of the government to close the Pakistani embassy in America and call back its ambassador from there immediately.
The protesters threatened that they would besiege the US embassy in Islamabad if the government failed in closing the US embassy in next 48 hours. Activists of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), Tanzim Ulema Ahl-i-Sunnat, Anjum Jalaly Ridwan Pakistan, Jamat-Ahl-e-Sunnat, Anjuman Talaba-e-Islam, Markzi Jammat Ahl-e-Sunnat, Tehrik Menhaj-ul-Quran, Melad committee, Almustafa Welfare Society and students of different seminaries participated in the protest demonstration.
The protesters led by Tahaffuz-e-Namoos-e-Risalat Mahaz Co-ordinator Allama Qari Abdur Rehman Sati marched from National Press Club to D-Chowk. They chanted anti-America slogans, including 'Death to America' and 'America Ka Jo Yar hay Ghaddar hay Ghaddar hay', and chanted slogan against the film maker and demanded of the US government to hang him. Heavy contingent of security was deployed on the occasion to avert any untoward incident.
Professor Dr Muhmmad Zafer Iqbal Jalalee speaking on the occasion demanded of the government to declare US ambassador in Pakistan along with other officials persona non grata and expel them from the country. He also demanded to close Pakistan embassy in US and call back its ambassador in US and other diplomats.
Allama Qari Abdur Rehman announced on the occasion that if American Embassy was not closed within the next 48 hours, they will besiege the American Embassy. Allama Mufti Gulzar Ahmad Naeemi said that to avert Libya like situation in the country, the government should expel the US ambassador out of Pakistan. Allama Mufti Zameer Ahmad Sajid asked America to arrest the film maker and hang him.
