Taiwan stocks ended 0.4 percent lower on Tuesday, snapping a seven-day rising streak, with cement makers the biggest losers, down 1.8 percent. The main TAIEX index fell 27.96 points to 7,734.26, taking a pause after hitting a five-month-closing high last week.
Electronics shares edged down 0.3 percent, with Apple suppliers Hon Hai and Largan Precision 1.4 percent and 0.2 percent lower, respectively. Financial counters lost 0.3 percent. The Taiwan dollar was up by T$0.067 to trade at T$29.332.
