Senior Advisor to the Chief Minister Punjab Senator Sardar Zulfikar Ali Khan Khosa has advised to set up 'Health Centers' and 'Field Hospitals' in flood hit areas of Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur. He directed the officers concerned to arrange anti-snake bite vaccine, medicines and life saving drugs in abundance in these centers.
He said all necessary preventive measures should be adopted to check break out of any epidemic in these areas. Sardar Zulfikar issued these directives while chairing a meeting to review the situation of flood in DG Khan says a hand out issued on Tuesday. Punjab Secretary Social Welfare Muhammad Akram Javed, Commissioner D. G. Khan Tariq Mahmood Khan and other officers attended the meeting and reviewed the situation after flood and relief measures being taken by the government. Senior Adviser said that boats and other machinery should be utilised to rescue the marooned people. He said vaccination of human beings and animals should be conducted to save them from any epidemic.
He also directed for completion of survey of damaged roads and crops at the earliest. He said that registration of affected in relief camps should also be carried out and fogging and IRS should also be conducted of the flood hit areas. Commissioner DG Khan Tariq Mahmood said that a dead line of two days has been issued to the officials concerned for restoration of affected roads of the area. He also informed the meeting that eight out of 18 roads of Rajanpur have already been restored and 43 roads out of total 79 roads of provincial and district governments have also been restored.
