Chakdara bridge to be completed by December 2013: minister

Federal Minister for Communications, Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan Khalil has said that Chakdara Bridge costing Rs 480 million will be completed by December 2013 to facilitate the people of Dir Upper and Chitral in travelling to other parts of the country.
Talking to media during his surprise visit to the Chakdara Bridge on Thursday, he also urged the NHA officials to take due care of construction quality and pace of the work. He said that the present democratic government is paying exclusive attention to the communications sector and we are giving priority to ongoing mega projects such as Luwari Road Tunnel, Northern Bypass and others in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Replying to a question, he said that we have a lasting relationship with our people and we are well aware of their needs. On this occasion, representative delegations of Peoples Students Federation, party workers and local dignitaries also had meetings with Arbab Alamgir Khan and apprised him of their problems and he assured them that their problems will be solved on priority basis because the only purpose of his politics to serve the people.
