The PIAF-Founders Alliance Thursday made another clean sweep by winning all the 8 seats of LCCI Associate Class for year 2012-13 paving the way for the Alliance to have its President, Senior Vice President and Vice President. Total 2,080 votes were polled out of 6,000 while 45 votes were rejected due to technical reasons. PIAF-Founder Alliance got 1,105 panel votes while the rivals Azad Progressive Alliance secured 410 votes.
The PIAF-Founders Alliance candidates Muhammad Nasir Hameed Khan got1491votes, Irfan Iqbal Sheikh 1409, S.M. Tariq 1408, Hassan Amjad 1397, Mudassar Masood 1391, Mian Zahid Javed 1390, Kashif Anwar 1385and Muhammad Akram Malik got 1284 votes. Azad Progressive Alliance candidates Muhammad Nawaz got 531, Mian Shabbir Ahmad 531, Manzoor Butt 528, Imran Asghar 545, Raja Abdul Sattar 531, Kamran Butt 560,Abdul Wadood Alvi 516, Waseem Yousaf 549 while an independent candidate Waheed Ahmad Sheikh got only 144 votes. Election Commission comprising Mian Muzaffar Ali, Haroon Shafiq Chaudhry and Nasrullah Mughal announced the provisional results.
Soon after the announcement of results, Chairman PIAF-Founders Alliance Mian Muhammad Ashraf and Chairman PIAF-Founders Alliance Steering Committee Mian Anjum Nisar thanked the voters for reposing confidence in PIAF-Founders Alliance. They said that the number of votes cast in favour of the PIAF-Founders Alliance was enough to prove that the business community was with the Alliance. They paid rich tributes to the Leadership of the PIAF-Founders Alliance for putting in their best efforts to ensure a comfortable victory.
