Russia's team visits Sialkot to enhance bilateral trade

Trade representatives of Russia Kozlov and Dr Shahid visited Sialkot city to strategy plan for enhancing bilateral trade between Russia and Pakistan. The delegation visited various industrial units in Sialkot and was highly impressed by the product quality. Kozlov and Dr Shahid also visited the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry on Thursday and held a meeting with the President Naeem Anwar Qureshi and other members of the Chamber.
The President SCCI in his welcoming address said that Sialkot is an export industrial city which renowned world-wide for quality product of craftsmanship. He said that Russian and Pakistani entrepreneurs should visit each other for exploring options of enhancing bilateral trade. Kozlov and Dr Shahid endorsed the view point of the President SCCI and said that Russian Trade Commission would extend all possible help and support to entrepreneurs of Pakistan for enhancing co-operation with the Russian counterparts.
Russia is a big market and has immense demand of Sialkot's products of sports goods, surgical instruments and others, he added. The exporters of Sialkot should explore the massive Russian market to gain commercial benefits. He stressed upon the need for direct trade between Russia and Pakistan, which would be beneficial for both the countries.
Regarding the energy crisis in Pakistan and its impact on industrial production especially the export industry, the Sialkot Chamber was planning to set-up power generating plant in private or public partnership offered to convince and motivate the Russian investors for investing in such a project in Sialkot if local investors share 20 per cent equity. The President SCCI appreciated the offer of Kozlov and said that with co-operation of the Russian investors we would defiantly set up power generating plant in Sialkot in the near future, said a media release.
