ISLAMABAD: The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce is committed to introducing Pakistani products in the American market, its special representative Shahid Khan has said.
There is a great demand for Pakistani products in America and the Brooklyn chamber can act as a bridge to provide access to that market. Shahid Khan expressed these views during a special conversation with media personnel during his recent visit to Pakistan.
He said that during his visit to Pakistan, he met office-bearers of the Rawalpindi chamber, Lahore chamber, Sargodha chamber, Sahiwal chamber, Sukkur chamber and Faisalabad small traders.
These meetings have been very encouraging and traders expressing their desire to cooperate with the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce in bringing their products to the United States.
“We have assured that we can facilitate Pakistani businessmen to access the American markets,” Special Representative of Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce Shahid Khan.
He said Brooklyn chamber could play an active role to introduce Pakistani handicrafts which were famous around the world. “MoUs have also been signed with the Brooklyn Chamber under which the Brooklyn Chamber will support Pakistani businessmen.”
He said there were 10 to 12 million Pakistanis living in the United States, so there is a need for Pakistani products to reach the United States. “If legal channels are provided, Pakistan’s exports can increase and Pakistan’s foreign exchange can also increase.”
He said he had met with the Commercial Consulate and they had assured that they were ready to cooperate in every possible way.
