Prices move both ways on grain market

Prices moved both ways on the wholesale grain market on Saturday in the process of improved business activity as some major commercial centres opened after one-day closure as the government declared holiday to protest against publication of sacrilegious cartoons, dealers said.
On the grams side, grams Australia No 1 was higher by Rs 300 to Rs 7300-7700, grams Australia No 1 Dall low type picked up Rs 200 to Rs 8700 and the best type was unchanged at Rs 8900, grams 50x50 gained Rs 400 to 7900-8300, yellow peas Canada Dall low type, however, shed Rs 150 to Rs 4850 and the best quality was followed the same pattern, losing Rs 100 to Rs 5100, yellow peas Russia inferior type was up by Rs 150 to Rs 4350 and the best type rose by Rs 100 to Rs 4600 and yellow peas Russia Dall low type was up by Rs 50 to Rs 4850 and the good type gained Rs 100 to Rs 5100, they said.
On the seeds side, cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh (old) low type was down by Rs 100 to Rs 400 and the best quality was lower by Rs 50 to Rs 500 as supply improved after monsoon rains, cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh (new) low type did not show any change at Rs 900 while the good type shed Rs 50 to Rs 950, they said. Prices were unchanged on the cereals side, they added.
