At least four people, including two alleged kidnappers, were killed in the city on Sunday, police sources said. Quaidabad police claimed killing two alleged criminals involved in cases in kidnapping for ransom in an encounter in Shaerpao Colony, Landhi area. Police also recovered a kidnapped man during the raid.
The bodies of alleged kidnappers were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for autopsies. Their identities could not be ascertained till the filling of this report. Police also recovered a hand-cuffed man who was later identified as 30-year-old Mohabbat Khan, son of Owais Khan. He was abducted on September 17 from Hasan Noman Colony, Soharab Goth. Sohrab Goth police registered a case on the complaint of his brother Amir against unknown accused.
Police said that the kidnappers had demanded Rs 500,000 from the family of Mohabbat for his release. He said that police recovered two TT pistol and a repeater from their possession.
A man was shot dead at MT Khan Road falling in the limits of Jackson police station.. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico legal formalities. In another incident, a man was gunned down in Hangoraabad area of Layari in the jurisdiction of Kalri police station.
