HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks started the week with healthy gains Monday, in line with a rally across most of Asia, with help coming from a strong performance in mainland Chinese markets.
The Hang Seng Index rose 0.81 percent, or 167.15 points, to 20,886.96.
The Shanghai Composite Index added 2.06 percent, or 66.31 points, to 3,290.34, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China’s second exchange jumped 1.72 percent, or 36.48 points, to 2,161.66.
