KARACHI: Punjab Minister for Energy, Industries, Commerce, Investment and Skill Development S M Tanveer inaugurated on Monday the S M Muneer (Bhaijan) Conference Hall at the head offices of Gohar Group of Companies.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by a large number of members of the business community, leaders and members of the United Business Group (UBG), prominent figures from various walks of life including media and socioeconomic sectors, who paid rich tribute to the late S M Muneer for his services.
They also praised the decision of Hanif Gohar to name the newly-constructed Hall after the late business leader.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of UBG-SZ Khalid Tawab said that the large number of people gathered for the ceremony reflected the kind of relations the business community had with S M Muneer.
Secretary General of the UBG Hanif Gohar said that the late business leader would always be remembered for his devotion, dedication and selfless service to the business community and for improving the image of Pakistan on the national and international levels.
S M Muneer devoted his entire life to the cause of business community and was particularly supportive of the SME sector, he added.
Provincial Minister S M Tanveer thanked members of the business community for the affection they expressed for his father, who was a “patriotic voice” of the community.
The business community is confronted today with many challenges that can only be overcome through combined efforts and teamwork. He said that his doors are open for the business community members of all sectors.
Chairman of UBG Shahzad Ali Malik and its President Zubair Tufail were among those who spoke on the occasion.
Prominent figures who attended the ceremony included Malik Khuda Buksh, Abdul Haseeb Khan, Mumtaz Ali Shaikh, Sheikh Arshad Farooq, Ikraam Rajput, Noor Ahmed Khan, Nasir Uddin Shaikh, Shakeel Ahmed Dhingra, Muslim Mohammedi, Mirza Ishtiaq Baig, Junaid Abdul Qadir, Ghazanfar Ali Khan, Shaheen Ilyas Sarwana, Shakeel Tanoli, Javed Iqbal, Zahid Numberdar, Humayon Laeeq, Irfan Sarwana, Marium Choudhary, Naheed Masud, and Farzana Burni.
