'Concrete measures needed to keep dengue under control'

Due to efforts by the government departments and vigorous co-operation by the people, the Punjab government has been able to successfully control the dengue virus. However, all stakeholders would have to continue their efforts, along with a co-ordinated practical methodology.
This was stated by Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab on Health, Khawaja Salman Rafique. He was presiding over a review meeting of the latest situation of dengue virus and its control held at Civil Secretariat Committee Room, here Monday. Secretary Health Punjab Arif Nadeem said that it is for the first time the government has been able to successfully control dengue menace.
Kh Salman Rafiq lauded the services rendered by doctors of government hospitals, nurses and other staff, in providing cure and treatment to the dengue patients. Commissioner Lahore said, although cases of dengue patients have been low this year, however the visiting dengue patients are being looked after very well in hospitals and, by grace of God, no patient has died, so far.
