FBR launches drive against smuggled vehicles, Iranian POL products

In compliance of the directives issued by the Chairman FBR the Model Collectorate of Customs Preventive, under the leadership of Kahwar Farid Maneka, Collector of Customs Preventive has started a drive against smuggled vehicles, Iranian origin POL products, mobile telephones, fabric and various other miscellaneous merchandise.
The Anti Smuggling Organisation of the Collectorate in its recent drive has seized 08 non-duty paid smuggled vehicles vizPajero, Land Cruisers and other luxurious cars from posh areas of Karachi like Defence, Clifton and Tariq Road. The haul included seizure of 4000 litres of smuggled Iranian origin diesel, besides 2000 meters of unstitched cloth. The Iranian origin diesel and cloth were seized from the area of Yousuf Goth near Mochko, whereas more than 3500 mobile telephones and other miscellaneous electronic items being non duty paid and smuggled into the country were also seized from different areas within the city.
The Collectorate has lodged FIR against people involved in violating the relevant provisions of the Customs Act, 1969 and their cases are under trial with the Special Judge (Customs and Taxation), Karachi. Value of the seized goods so far is more than 20 million Pak rupees.-PR
