Amateur Ranking Golf Championship begins in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

A three-day National Amateur Golf Championship will be started from today (Friday). The 45th edition of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amateur National Ranking Golf Championship will be formally inaugurated by the vice president Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Golf Association, and Station Commander Peshawar Brigadier Zakir Hussain, said Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Golf Association Major Arshad Mehmood while addressing a press conference here at Golf Club on Thursday.
In this regard, he said all arrangements have been finalised to organise national sports event in a befitting manner with provision of adequate to sportsmen during the three-day event. He informed that more than 100 golfers for seven different categories, including open to Amateur Handicap nine and below with subsidiary matches of HCP 10-18, boys under-15 and under-18, ladies with maximum 18 HCP, seniors 55-years and above and veterans 70 years and above, were participated.
Flanked by two gold medalist golfers of the Chief of Air Staff Golf Championship Dr Ali Haider and Asim Ayub, he said being a national ranking event, all top ranking players comprising Abdur Rehman, Sajid Khan, ladies gold medallists Dr Farida Naseer, a recently gold medalist of the Chief of the Air Staff gross category, who is hailing from this Club Naeem etc will be in action for the three-day event.
Regarding the security arrangement for three day sports event, he said they had made all required arrangements to organise the event in a peaceful and good way. He further said former skipper of Pakistan team Mehmood Aziz, who is also Chairman of the selection committee will see top players in action before short-listing them for the national team. He informed that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Barrister Masood Kausar will be the chief guest at concluding ceremony on September 28th at evening 5pm.
